Mausoleum
Importing mice
Mice can be transferred between groups either via the Mausoleum internal mail or using regular email. The import of mice via the Mausoleum mail is described here.
In this chapter we will focus on the other possibility of mouse exchange using regular email. In order to import the data the email sent to you has to contain a text with the encrypted data. This text fragment will look like this:
If you found a text fragment similar to the one shown above you copy it to the clipboard. Make sure that the whole encrypted part from "START_OF_EXTRACT" to "END_OF_EXTRACT" is contained in your selection. You click now (after selecting "Mice" in the object selection field of the inspector) the blue "Import"-button in the inspector. In the dialog you just paste in the copied text as shown here:
After clicking "YES" Mausoleum tries to decipher the pasted text fragment and if possible will import all the objects (mice, loci, lines and strains). If the extraction was sucessful a window is shown which contains a table with the extracted mice.
The GURUs of the group will get a notification email from the system:
The contents of this email is the information that a specific user has imported a certain number of objects into the group's database.
